Chinese giant Huawei has signed a deal with Russian telecoms firm MTS to develop 5G networks in the country

As USA warning it's allies to not use Huawei's tech in their 5G networks. Huawei has signed a deal with Russian telecoms firm MTS to develop fifth-generation wireless networks in the country.

Deal has signed when China and Russia presidents XI Jinping and Vladimir Putin had a sideline meeting at Russia, which took place as the Chinese leader begus a three-day trip to Russia.

MTS is a Russia's largest mobile provider, holding a 31% market share and boasting 78.3 million subscribers. It also operates in the Ukraine, Armenia and Belarus. The firm said the agreement would see "the development of 5G technologies and pilot the launch of fifth-generation networks in 2019-2020".

Guo Ping, one of the chairmen on rotation, said he was 'very happy' with the agreement "in cooperation with MTS firm to strategise and launch 5G'.

On the other hand, As USA warns allies including UK and Germany that it could cut intelligence ties with the countries if they uses Huawei's 5G technology in their Networks.

As Huawei in the list of USA companies prohibits from doing business with it, it's not surprising to see the firm strengthen ties with Russia. Relations between China and the USA are strained following incidents in Crimea and Syria and allegations of US elections interference, and it clearly seems trade war pushing China closer to Russia.

Xi believes and called Putin his 'close friend'. adding that they met nearly 30 times over the past six years. Xi told "We will strengthen the ties with mutual support on key interest and issues".
